Customers are being more  and more picky about were they spend their money! We all know this. It is no surprise. Folks used to just go wherever was quick and easy lay down the cash, eat, and leave. If you are still trying to cater to those customers, they are far few and between and only getting worse.

Patrons are looking for attention, politeness, and a great meal for little money as possible. People are going back to the older way of thinking more and more. They want to get what they pay for and then some. It is always most important to concentrate on the quality of the food that you provide. Most important!!!! But, you should also start teaching your employees to pay attention to detail with every customer.

The detail is what will keep that customer coming back. Remembering the customers that frequent your place of business. Actually talk with the customers about others things besides if they want more tea or soda. People love to tell their opinion about all sorts of things. If they believe that they can make a change by voicing their opinion, they will. Have you ever wanted to let a restaurant know what you really think? I have plenty of times. Let your customers speak. Then actually take what they have to say and make some changes. You have to see things through their eye’s.

Create conversation, be appreciative of their business, listen to what they have to say, and make those changes. What is the worst thing that could happen? You might make more money, and that is what we are all working hard for!

It is a classic story that is told all the time!

I person falls ass backwards into the BBQ Restaurant business and becomes very successful. You have that one signature item that you do great and no one can imitate. The people are lining up at the door everyday to get a plate of your delicious food. Smoked to perfection and covered in that special BBQ Sauce you make from scratch everyday.

Then the owner decides to grow a brain and thinks he can compete with the other guy’s selling new ideas that have nothing to do with what really works for him. He adds onion rings  and burgers maybe some sort of Tilapia or Salmon to his menu.

What do you think happens next? The customer starts seeing a decline in the quality of that signature BBQ he became famous for. Now he is just like everyone else and can’t understand what is happening! It spins out of control so fast that he closes the doors very soon after that.

Sound somewhat familiar? Don’t let this happen to you! Make your restaurant the best you can do! Concentrate on the things that got you there in the first place. Those signature dishes made from scratch that nobody else has. You will have more satisfied customers everyday. It is great to run a special for something new once in a while, but make sure that it goes right a long with the other items on your menu! Don’t sale ribs if you are in the seafood business.

Try new things, but be smart about it!

I Am Commited To:

To my friends, We can’t do this alone, and a good friend is hard to find. Be there when they need us, listen when we need to, give advice when asked, never judge, and stick by them….regardless. Just like family, friends are a two-way street, and need our support as much as we need them.

To my family, My spouse, my kids, my siblings. Don’t be a stranger. These people have known us our entire life…..and still like us. That says something. Show the same to them.

To my faith, Without it….we are lost.

To my career, Notice we didn’t say job. There is a difference. Mowing the yard is a “job”, what you do all-day, everyday defines who you are in this world. It is your career. Make the best of it.

To my company, They have trusted us to do our best, everyday, and to work as a team for continued success and profitability. Anything less than that from us is shameful.

To my customers and business associates, Just like our company, these people depend on us to show up and do our best. Without our best, it makes their lives more difficult. Why would we do that to people we desperately need to succeed?

To the truth, This is not always the easiest path, but it is the right path. The truth is hard, the truth is not always pretty, but it is the only way we will ever win.

To my health, Bad habits need to go away, and good habits need to be started. Anything is excess needs to stop, and anything involving moving around needs to start. Replace that Twinkie with a 15 minute walk. The difference will save our lives.

To my brain, It is the most under-utilized part of our being. It is the most super of super computers, and we fill it with reality TV and bad news. Quit it! Read something…..study a completely foreign subject..….take a class…..do a cross word puzzle….anything. Just don’t allow it to go to mush.

To my passions, NOT passion, but passions. Our hobbies and our interest that help us relax. Whatever it is, make time to do it. From wood carving to bass fishing to collecting ceramic squirrels. Whatever it is….do it, enjoy it, and make plans to do it again soon. Without our passions, we will go crazy.

To have fun, Sometimes as grown-ups we get so bogged down with the world we forget about this one. Don’t let outside influences suck the life out of you. Quit taking yourself so serious. If you have forgotten how to have fun, look to kids for guidance. Their whole world revolves around the next game, or ice cream cone, and they love to laugh. Laugh as often as you can, at anything you can.

To make the most of everything I do, This is it. We have one shot at it. Don’t waste a single second on the mundane and unimportant. Life is Good…..make it count.

Happy 2010

I sell groceries for a living and I can tell you that the last 4 months have been the worst in 4 years! My customers have been pretty loyal to me and I can’t even explain how fortunate I feel for that.

It is not that they are buying from someone else, they are just not buying! I go in one place after the other and all I see is empty tables. Is this happening to you? Is it just that people are spending their money on presents? What can you do to make it better.

You have to make yourself unique!!! Don’t be a ,”ME TOO”, restaurant!!! You have to tell people why you are different than the other guy! Explain in great detail! Don’t just say we make our own sauce from scratch! You have to tell people where the tomatoes come from and how long you cook the sauce and describe the spices and seasonings that you use! People love discription!

Would you rather hear this?

We make our own sauce from scratch daily!

Or would you rather hear this?

Our tomatoes are grown in the San Fernando Valley of California, we cook them for 3 hours on low heat and blended with 8 kinds seasonings.

This is just a taste of what you can do to your menu or special board! You have to be different! And tell your customers why! They will notice the difference time and time again! Believe you me, they will think of you when spending their hard earned cash on out to eat!

It is not what you say, but how you say it! Makes all the difference!

Share your thoughts or examples with everyone else!

Taking a risk like this is foolish! You have spent a lot of money and time in your buisness just to screw it up! Be careful when buying and transporting food that you are preparing for the public! You don’t want your restaurant to be on the news for something like this!

Most restaurant owners at the sign of adversity start slashing all thewrong things. They cut out on buying quality products to save money. The cut out on employee help.

They stop advertising!!!

These are the worst things that you can do!!!!

Never sacrifice quality or labor and most importantly never stop marketing your business! These are the lifes blood to everything that you have worked so hard for. Just do it smarter than the next guy. You don’t have the money that the big chains do, I know! But, people would rather spend their money with a local business than with a chain anyday of the week. These are people who we share our lives with. Communities all have schools, churchs, fire departments, police officers, chamber of commerce, football, baseball, track, volleyball teams,  and the list goes on and on.

Get a Mailing List!

Mailing list work! You have to just find your niche to drive the customers back into your store. Make it personal. Put an actual stamp on the post card. Never bulk mail. Write the addresses on them with pen and sign each one. Make it short, sweet and straight to the point. Thank them for theirbusiness. The average direct mailing gets 1.97% return on every 100 mailed out! If you do what I say! You will get 20 % return minimum!

                                                             This is HUGE!!!

If you think I am nuts, just mail out 100 postcards to anyone within a 1 mile radius of your business! Put a picture on one side that has nothing to do with your business ( They will throw it away if they think they are being sold to!)and the otherside an offer that is very short and direct!

MAKE IT GOOD! Give them something FREE!!

Tea, salad, bread, dessert, etc… And see what happens! You can print them from home and mail them with a .23 cent stamp! Most people have a computer that they place customer information in a database! Print it out and use it! THIS IS GOLD! They have already spent money with you! Just get them to buy more often! That is the number one trick!! Mail the cards on a Monday or Tuesday! That way your card does not get lost with everyone elses on a Thursday.

That is the day you get all your junk mail if you haven’t noticed!

You don’t want that day!!!!

Let me know how it works for you! If you have any questions? Leave a comment! I will answer it! Gaurenteed!

Good luck and never sacrifice quality!

Food Distributors put these people on the streets that have no clue on what they are doing! Most of them do not have any restaurant experience at all let alone what kind of flour to sale you! Most of them think all flour is the same!

If you Sales Rep can’t give you want you want FIRE THEM!

Firing a sales rep is easy! Call their boss and request someone new. Tell them that you want someone with food service experience. They are out there! You just have to get one that knows what they are talking about! You have no problem turning over an employee when they lose you money! So don’t be afraid to do the same here!!!!

They should have experience!!

Ask the sales rep what there back ground is. This should be the first clue to what is in it for you! People with some sort of experience in the kitchen or the front of the house or paying the bills and taxes will have sympathy for you! This is a good thing!

Sympathy brings you attention!

Attention is what we all need in this time of need. Attention can bring you more things than you can imagine! New menu ideas, food cost analysis, employee cost analysis, and rebates! Yes!!! Rebates!!!

Rebates are Awesome!

Food Brokers are hurting too! They want you to buy their products! They are even paying restaurants to do so! Through deviations, free cases, and even writing checks monthly and quarterly to people out there just like you! Your Sales Rep should be informing you of this. If he or she is not doing this for you FIRE THEM! There are other distributors with eager beavers who want your business. Make your Rep work for you.

Order takers are a thing of the past!

These people are a partner in your business. The more you make, the more they make. It is in their best interest to help you succeed! Make them work for their money! You have to work for yours! Get them to bring the new ideas to the table. New food ideas, help change your menu, get you in touch with brokers that will help you make more money! That is the name of the game! Why else work 70 to 100 hours per week for the same pay as 40 hours working for someone else! Because you want to be your own boss! I did it for 14 years! I have been there! I made a lot of money! No one told me how to do it! I had to do it the hard way!

Trust me and start this today! I will have more to come ongetting more free stuff from your distributors and your Sales Rep! Stay Tuned!!!

Every single website and blog needs traffic if it is to survive. Without the right kind of exposure your web property is lost. When people can’t find your site, there’s nothing you can do to make it successful. Thankfully, there are lots of (zero cost) methods that you can use to get more traffic. And article marketing is one of the things you can do. As someone in article marketing you’re not just driving targeted traffic to your site, you’re also building one heck of a brand. If you can use article marketing correctly, nothing else will compare to it. So how are you supposed to go about accomplishing this? If you want to increase your article marketing success, the tips we’ll share in this article will help you.

The title you assign to your article is incredibly important. Why are you even bothering to submit your articles if nobody is opening them or reading them? Be careful when you pick titles for your articles. It’s important to take an approach that is both targeted and relevant. Trying to be confusing and mysterious isn’t the right way to go. This will definitely bring down the open rate of your articles. You need to offer as much clarity as you possibly can with the titles of your articles. The work you put into composing good titles is definitely worth it.

Thinking about copying articles from somewhere, mixing and matching your way to article marketing success? If your answer is yes then you’re on the wrong path. Article marketing will only be successful if you create totally original articles. If you do not have real and original content it won’t make a lot of sense to start article marketing. You can’t even use private label right articles for it. It’s important to work your way up that article marketing ladder by only using articles that are as original as you can get. This one tip will save your bacon and make you a far better and more effective article marketer.

If you’re submitting your articles to niche directories and sites, it’s a mistake to expect all of your articles to be published. It’s a maybe maybe not kind of response rate there. Try to make contact with as many websites as you can. If you don’t see a considerable response coming from a specific website, it is important to be patient. And then get in touch with them. It’s okay to ask why your article hasn’t yet been published. You should also work to analyze your articles to see if they might be lacking in anything. No matter what, don’t reduce your effort simply because you get a few rejections. It’s all in a day’s work. Every article marketer out there knows for sure that quality is what really matters. When you want to leave your mark on your industry through article marketing, you need to make sure that you stay focused. Make sure you take the correct action at the correct times. With the proper tactics and your continual forward movement you can take your article marketing efforts to unprecedented heights. You have lots of options (not just one) if you want your article marketing to be effective. Better than that, good article marketing can help you achieve long term results. It offers you the consistency you really need when you want to send targeted traffic to your website.

Calculate ROI of SEO Campaigns Like the Pros
SEOFacebook1Google+2LinkedIn2Twitter1Pinterest0For many search marketers, both professional and novice, measuring the success of various marketing channels can help to understand the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for any given tactic. One of the most traditional ways to measure success is to determine profitability, or return on investment (ROI). Essentially, when you calculate ROI of SEO campaigns, you are measuring whether or not you have made a profit or taken a loss on the money you have invested to perform the SEO activities in your campaign. While you may not have spent any money on paid media, such as advertising costs in Paid Search, the time you spend building links, the money you spend on tools to analyze your results, and the funds you invest to have great content developed all add up to an investment in SEO.

Recently, Neil Patel, the co-founder of KISSmetrics, an analytics provider that helps companies make better business decisions and blogger at Quick Sprout, published a very useful graphic to help the average business owner or digital marketer finally calculate ROI of SEO campaigns just about as easily as you can for any direct purchase marketing methods. You can view the graphic HERE.

For those who just want to know the highlights, basically, Neil measures ROI by taking Cost per Acquisition (CAC) away from the average Lifetime Value (LTV) of each customer. ROI=LTV – CAC. So, how do you find the Cost per Acquisition or Lifetime Value for your business? CAC is calculated by taking your SEO Cost per Acquisition (total cost of all SEO spending divided by number of customers achieved through SEO campaign) and adding that to your fixed cost per all acquisitions (cost of website hosting, overhead, etc.). Lifetime Value is calculated by taking the number of purchases per year the average customer makes * the average purchase price * the life expectancy of each customer in your system in years * gross profit margin. The graphic lays this all out quite nicely.

Now, you have an effective way to calculate ROI of SEO campaigns like the pros. No more excuses!Related Posts:Cheap Sex Live Chats with MILF Cam Girls

If you’re building a content site, one of the biggest problems you’ll have is filling it with good, keyword rich content. Even if you’re an expert on a certain subject, it’s difficult to write about that every single day, day in and day out. At some point, you’ll run dry, so to speak. But your need for content doesn’t stop.

One thing you can do to solve this problem is to buy content. There are several ways to do that. You can buy what’s called PLR (private label rights) content, or you can just hire someone to write your content for you. Let’s talk about both of these.

PLR Content

Private Label Rights content is any content that someone else wrote or otherwise made, which you buy. You also buy the rights to put your name on the content and make it look like it’s from you. In a way, this is similar to hiring a ghost writer. The writer writes the content, and you pay them for the right to claim it for your own.

There’s nothing unethical about this. About 80% of the non-fiction books in your neighborhood bookstore are ghostwritten. The writer is doing nothing more than selling a service.

The difference between PLR content and something that’s ghostwritten is the PLR content is sold to more than one buyer. This is kind of like an artist making copies of a print and selling the copies. PLR articles are generally sold to a limited number of buyers, 25, 50, or 100. Something like that.

Buying PLR content is about the cheapest way for you to get content that you don’t have to write. You can buy 10, 500 word articles on most any topic for $4 to $10. Once you purchase the content, you can re-write it, use it as it, cut it up and use it, use it with other content. You can give it away or you can sell it.

Hiring a Freelancer

At the other end of the cost spectrum is hiring a freelance writer to write your blog posts or articles for you. You can do the same things with this content that you can do with PLR content. The only real difference is your content written by a freelancer is unique. It’s not sold to other people.

Of course, there’s a cost difference. At the low end, freelance content should cost you $4 or $5 for 400 to 500 words. At the high end, this could cost upwards of $25. More experienced writers usually charge more. Also, writers from third world countries can charge less.

Either way you go, at some point you’re probably going to have to buy some sort of content in the future. If you’re going to hire a freelancer, then make sure you get an article or two from them so you can see if they can write. Then order your content in small amounts until you’ve established a relationship with the writer.

Outsourcing your content is a great way to save money, and get quality content. Try it! You’re probably going to be pleasantly surprised.

One of the key skills in internet marketing is knowing how to build a squeeze page that works. In case you don’t know, a squeeze page is a webpage where there’s only one option for the visitor, usually to fill out an opt-in email form. They either do that, or hit the back button and leave. In other words, you give your visitor no option. You “squeeze” them into either “fishing or cutting bait”.

Some marketers feel like squeeze pages are too harsh. They don’t want to offend their potential buyers by saying “either take it or leave it.” Sure, if you don’t know how to build a squeeze page that works, you can offend some of your traffic. But there are two things to say about this.

One: The folks you offend weren’t real customers, anyway. They were just tire kickers. Look at it like this…if someone won’t fill out an opt-in email form, they’re not going to pull out their credit card later on and pay you for one of your products.

Two: This is actually the flip side of One. People who really want the information you’re offering want to give you their email address. For whatever reason they like you and have some degree of trust associated with you. If you know how to build a squeeze page that works well, you can capitalize on this trust and get them to give you their information.

A big part of how to build a squeeze page that works is what you’re offering for your customer’s email address. No one’s going to just fill out your opt-in form and give you their email address just because you asked them. You have to have something they want.

With internet marketers this “thing” usually takes the form of a report or short e-book that has information your customer wants. Of course, in the body of the squeeze page copy you need to explain this. You need to make it clear that you’re offering them, completely for FREE, a report which will tell them stuff they want to know.

Looked at like this, a squeeze page is basically a short sales letter. The “sale” is your getting the email address. What you’re selling is your giveaway. It’s going to “cost” your visitor their email address to get the report.

There’s no real trick to knowing how to build a squeeze page that works. It’s not magic. You just need to explain (usually through bullet points) what your prospect can get by giving up their email address. If you give them more than they feel like they’re giving up, you’ve got a sale. And another email address to sell stuff to over and over again.

Article marketing is hands down on of the best ways to get targeted, ready-to-buy traffic to your website. Not everyone has success with article marketing, however. In this article, we’re going to look at what separates winning article marketing strategies from ones that don’t work out as well. Here are four tips you can use to take your article marketing right to the bank!

Tip 1: Write your articles like sales letters. Now, you don’t want it to sound like a late-night infomercial, but you do need to understand that your article is more than just information. Your goal is to get the reader to click on your link, either in the article body or in your bio box.

Tip 2: Write a headline that arouses curiosity and makes people want to read your article. In general, readers find your articles via a search engine search. In other words, when they decide if they want to read your article, they can’t see the whole thing. They just see a headline and also a description. You want your headline to be a call to action. Something that’s going to interest people.

Tip 3: Make your articles at least 400 words long. If you want to publish your article on a lot of article directories (and you should), it needs to be at least 400 words long. A lot of directories don’t publish articles that are shorter.

This makes total sense. A directory makes money through traffic. They want readers to feel like they learned something, or at least made their lives better, by reading their articles. An article that’s less than 400 words just seems a little unsubstantial.

Tip 4: Make your bio box look like it’s part of the article. At the end of an ezine style article, there’s an author’s bio box. Although you can try to put links back to your website in the body of the article, not all directories allow that. The place to put your link is in the bio box.

Don’t think of the bio box like it’s an afterthought for your reader. Your bio box needs to fulfill the same function that a call to action does on a sales letter. This is so important, let’s spend some more time on it.

This is what you don’t want (but what you usually see).

“Joe Johnson is a career animal lover who has spent countless hours learning the ins and outs of the lives of ferrets.”

Okay, that was meant to be funny. But really. Looked at from your reader’s point of view. They are interested in themselves, not you. Unless you’re the inventor of the South Beach diet or someone with as much authority in your given niche, who you are and what you’ve done is secondary.

What’s primary is this. If you did a good job with your article, your reader should be thinking…”Hmm…I liked that…I wonder what else this gal (or guy) has to say about all of this.”

That’s the kind of response that gets the click. That’s what we call “pre-selling”! And, that’s what article marketing is all about—pre-selling your reader so that they click through to your money page.

A better idea for the bio box would be to make it essentially just the last sentence in the article, with a text link embedded in it. Something like this would be better.

Check out Raising Ferrets for Fun and Profit to learn more about these wonderful critters.

(Where the underlined part is a text link to your site.) If your article directory doesn’t allow text links (and there are still some that don’t), then just include the whole address so that your reader can cut and paste it into their browser window.

There’s certainly more to know about article marketing than just this. But these four tips will make this type of technique start to work like gang busters. Apply these tips and watch the traffic start rolling in!

Local Business Marketing Online |

Local search results have become prime real estate on the search engine results page. These results are displayed under the sponsored advertisements, pushing the universal search results down. To most business owners’ ranking in the local results, such as Google Maps, is imperative to their company’s online success. Why should local search be a part of your online marketing strategy? Not only does Google Maps prominently showcase local businesses at the top of their search results page, but provides customer reviews about an organization’s products and services. Searchers can read customer opinions about their experience with the organization. As you can imagine, customer reviews can hurt your company’s reputation or create customer evangelists producing a viral marketing effect. Recommendations for Local Search: 1. Get listed with Google’s Local Business Center. Be sure to completely fill-out all the information as much as possible including descriptions of products, service offerings and photos. 2. List your business on categories and subcategories that are related to your businesses niche. 3. Claim your listing. Once you have submitted your business to Google Local Business Center, you’ll need to claim your listing. Google does this by mail or phone. By claiming the listing, you are establishing a sense of trust to Google about your site. 4. Building trust through Webpage localization. Include city and state words or phrases in the Meta tags, headers and content. 5. Having a localized phone number and address in the footer helps build trust in the search engines, about your business’ geographical location. 6. Inner linking strategy should contain localized wording in the anchor text of the links. It assists in telling the search engines where and what that page is about. 7. Localized linking strategies provide prominence of geographical location. Build links from local organizations or directories in your area. For example, chambers of commerce are good links to obtain. 8. The search engine pulls results from local resources such as Yellow Pages, Super Pages, Dex Knows, Yelp, etc. . . It may be confusing to the search engines if the business title, phone number or address are different across any of these resources. Therefore, make sure all have the same information. Otherwise, you are decreasing the validity of your business’ location with the search engines. 9. Customer reviews assist in popularity. There are theories that customers with a good, quality review assist in the overall local search algorithm. We’ll be sure to publish our findings as these theories are tested. No one knows, except for the Google PhD’s, what makes up their local algorithm. Optimizing for universal search results and local search results are two separate algorithms. Local search is driven by business location, Website theme, phone number, local resources, customer reviews and more.Related Blogs

Relationship between the Internet and car buyers has increased consistently over the last few years. Today, Internet became an integral part of car buying process. A study by Capgemini, Cars Online 09/10 stated that almost 90 percent of consumers use the Internet to research vehicles. Its latest report, Capgemini Cars Online Study 10/11, revealed that over 40 percent of consumers would like the ability to purchase vehicles online, using the Internet for the complete end-to-end buying process, and not just for research. Many auto dealers understand this reality and have incorporated the Internet and related technology as part of their marketing and advertising efforts. Though some of them have embraced opportunity provided by the Internet, others are struggling to keep up with the constant developments and latest trends. Being aware of the buying behaviors of potential customers is important in developing and maintaining effective marketing strategies. One of the latest trends observed these days is that people are going online for local products or services. A survey from BIA/Kelsey revealed that 97 percent of consumers use online media while researching products or services in their local area. Keeping this in mind, major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing are listing the top 10 local listings above their organic search results. Despite of the increasing focus on local search, many auto dealerships are simply ignoring this feature. If you are one of them, failing to use this feature to its fullest, you are losing all those valuable customers. Remember, your competitor can take action and grab them all. Though general search engine optimization (SEO) techniques work well for some websites, it is necessary to apply a more specific optimization concept called local search submissions. It attracts potential customers from the specific geographic location you are looking for. From the above discussion, it is clear that local search submissions are very important for local businesses, such as auto dealerships. Now we will learn how local search helps auto dealers in their business. Improves popularity People generally tend to trust the businesses they are familiar with. Local search submissions can help local auto dealers stand above and dominate their competition. Your high ranking in the local search listing makes the prospects learn about your business and it also shows your authority in your local area.
Gives more relevant traffic There is no value even if thousands of people visit your site who will never buy anything. On the other hand, highly targeted visitors, even if they are in small numbers are very valuable. This is where local search is very good at. While trying to promote your auto dealership, local search focuses ?? bringing ‘qualified’ leads – people who are in a position to purchase. As discussed above, major search engines have started laying a lot of stress on local listings. They are listed above the organic search results; usually shown in a map along with additional information like a description of your dealership, business hours, products or services you offer, contact info, etc. So, a well-structured local search campaign helps you gain a powerful competitive advantage over your competitors using high visibility in the search engines. The ultimate goal of this campaign is to ensure that your dealership comes up in the results when a potential customer is looking for the services you offer in your region. Low investment and better ROI Traditional advertising methods such as billboard advertising, flyer distribution, advertising in local radio or newspapers may cost you hundreds of dollars (sometimes thousands). Yet, most of the times, they do not provide any positive results. Whereas search submissions on local web portals and sites requires less investment and can build up a solid return on investments (ROI) for your auto dealership as it targets all the potential customers. Another major trend that supports local submissions is ‘increasing usage of smart phones to find local businesses’. According to Compete, nearly one in three smartphone users called or stopped into a local business after finding it using a local search. Customers in your area are looking for your products and services online. Can your auto dealership afford not to be in the local search, which has grown over the years and is promising to continue its growth. Related Blogs

www.SmallBusinessOnlineCoach.com – Whenever Google brings out something new like their new Google Maps “Place Pages” I like to study them and see what they are listing there. ‘Place Pages’ is essentially a ‘mashup’ where they take information from all sorts of different sources online. The main focus seems to be reviews, photos, video, wiki’s, & mashup travel Google maps. A great and easy way secure more business is take note what elements they are ranking on these Place Pages and then go and add your content there if you can (often you can). What I’d recommend doing though is to make sure when you add things like images & video is that you watermark everything and try to give a call to action. What do you think of Google’s new Place Pages…? BTW, be sure to rate, share, favorite, & comment on the video. Your continued conversation really helps!Related Blogs

Social Media Marketing from Search First Internet Marketing

There is no better way to explain the power of a cohesive Internet Marketing strategy than by example. The recent snow storms that pounded the east coast left most businesses paralyzed for more than a week. Not for one Search First client…

One of our clients, who happens to be a professional painting service, found a way to make the most of the heavy snow, by providing a valuable service and maintaining business operations at the same time. This enterprising company wanted to offer their clients snow removal services. Enter the Internet marketing plan.

Step one was to draft an email to their existing customers. The email explained that they were providing snow removal services including the removal of gutter ice dams, among other snow removal services. After the email was sent out to existing clients, a new web page was created that fully explained the service availability. Then, the information and new web page were posted to the Facebook business page and Tweeted out to hundreds of Twitter users.

What could have been a week of zero business, turned into a huge week. The phone was ringing off the hook, and customer satisfaction reached all time highs.

Website Marketing for a Local Business

If you do business in Fairfax, VA why would you want to advertise anywhere but Fairfax? Local search advertising is quickly becoming one of the most effective means to attract new customers. While fundamentally, local search uses the same strategies as search engine optimization and pay-per-click, the tactics are very different. The bottom line is that if you have a business local to the northern Virginia area, or any local geography, Search First can help.

With broad-based or national seo or ppc campaigns, great care is taken to drive targeted traffic to a Web site. Local search is no different, but we focus only on the geography right around your place of business. This is key for many service oriented businesses who do not want or need to market to buyers outside a local area. We have several key tactics in our local search services…

Local Pay Per Click: We’ll build your Google Adwords account within a geo-targeted area. This means that your ads will only show on Web searches done within a pre-defined distance from your place of business. If you are only going after customers within 25 miles or your location, then we’ll set your ads up to run that way.

Local Search Submission: We will go to Google Local, Yahoo! Local and MSN Local and manually submit your Web site to each. This will enable your site to be found in the local listings – attracting new customers from your area.

Action – we build your campaigns, track results and then make them better

Additional Pay-Per-Click Engines: We can set up and maintain your local search ads on any engine. Depending on your goals, we can set up additional ad distribution on MSN AdCenter and Yahoo! Search Marketing.

Local search advertising is at the heart of what we do. In addition to the paid ads, we will optimize your Web site so that it is targeted at the customers you want most – those in your neighborhood! Let’s get started today!

Because pay-per-click advertising is often a great way to target local customers, ask about special pricing for businesses who decide to combine PPC and SEO efforts!Free Website EvaluationWant to know if your Web site is optimized for search engines? by Caitlin on July 7, 2011

in blogging, Google ToolsSo, not only do we have to read and share content on the web, but we have to write it too? With so many things to get done in one business day including, reading, sharing, liking, friending, following, unfollowing, tweeting, digging, connecting and more, it’s almost impossible to save time to be original and publish your own content. Anything that can help save time brainstorming, researching, drafting, editing, and posting is an A+ in my book. Well no worries, Google Chrome just might be able to save the day, once again. Here are six extensions for Google Chrome that will make writing a blog post a little bit easier and, help you get done a lot quicker.

This Google Chrome extension is a must-have for people who love to write down their thoughts. With the Chrome Notepad editor, you can create, edit, delete, and save notes right in your Google web browser. I like this extension because I can organize my blogging to-dos and ideas where I spend most of my time: online.

I love Evernote and, its Clip to Evernote extension for Google Chrome is awesome. For note takers and bookmarkers, this just might be the extension of your dreams. Evernote is an online social note-taking platform, also known as an extension to your brain that helps you to easily remember things in life from your computer, laptop, phone, and internet. The character count of a headline or blog post tile is important, especially for SEO reasons. How to Write an SEO Title Tag that Gets Clicks | in-house seo, keywords, search engine optimization, seo, Title Tags

by Patti on November 4, 2011

in in-house seo, keywords, search engine optimization, seo, Title Tags

If you’re finding that your website is just not getting the traffic you think it should have, or perhaps your website isn’t showing up in search results, the Title tags of your pages could be the problem. Title tags are the most important aspect of any Search Engine Optimization campaign (a close second is well written content, and lots of it). Before we explain how to write an effective title tag that gets clicks, we need to review what a Title tag is and where it appears in search engines. What the heck is a Title tag?

The title tag is an HTML title element that is crucial not only to SEO, but also to the user experience. Title tags are used to briefly and accurately describe the topic of an online document. Effective title tags get attention from search engines and visitors.Where is the Title tag?

You can find the Title tag in a few different places.1. In the source code.

Go to any webpage and view the source code. A few lines from the top, you will see this element:

Social Media Agency : SEO Agency : Inbound Marketing – Maine, NH, Boston2. In the browser bar and browser tabs.

3. In search resultsHow to Write Title Tags – Best PracticesKeep it Short

The optimal length for a Title tag is less than 70 characters. Notice in the image above that the title is truncated (“…”) – it’s a tad bit too long, so Google is only showing the first 68 or so characters.Put Primary Keyword Phrases First

Single keywords in a Title are never a good idea. Their too broad, you won’t rank for them, and your title will look like a string of keywords. It’s best to try to use 2-3 keyword phrases that accurately describe that page.If your brand is the most important element, put your brand name first.

Brand Name – Keyword Phrase 1 – Keyword Phrase 2If you’re more concerned about ranking for a certain keyword phrase, put it first.

Keyword Phrase 1 – Keyword Phrase 2 – Brand NameIf you only sell to a local area, be sure to include the Geo in the tag.

Keyword Phrase 1 – Geo Location – Brand NameKeep it Relevant

Don’t get caught up in keyword rankings. If your site is well written, has lots of great content, you will be found. Be sure to write your title tag to accurately represent the content of that page. Google is all about relevancy. Your Title tag must accurately correlate to your page content.Home Page

Every page of your website should have a unique Title tag. The home page typically has the most ranking power, hence, use your primary keyword phrases in the Title of the home page and in the content of the page itself. The home page introduces your company to the world, so it’s important that the keyword phrases are wisely chosen.Examples for an online chocolate chip cookie company:Good Title: Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies – Order Cookies Online – Cookies-R-UsOK Title: Chocolate Chip Cookies by Cookies-R-UsBad Title: Cookies-R-UsBad Title: Welcome to Cookies-R-UsBad Title: Cookies, Cookies, CookiesReally Bad Title: HomeInternal Pages

The internal web pages of your site are supporting pages. You may have pages that get very specific, like a Product page, or that are more generic, like an About Us page. Using the same structure as the Home page, an internal page Title tag may read like this:Star Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies by Cookies-R-Us – Order OnlineFinal Thoughts on Title Tags

When writing your Title tag, don’t write it just for the purpose of getting rankings on Google. While rankings are important, a Title tag that matches the content of that page is more important. As your web pages rise and fall in the rankings, it’s important to tweak your Title tags occasionally to make them more click-able, or tryout different keywords. Don’t be afraid of change here. Change is important with SEO.

HubSpot changes Inbound Marketing with HubSpot3 | Uncategorized | Internet Marketing Consulting – SEO – Social Media

by Patti on August 31, 2012

in Uncategorized

During their keynote message on August 29, 2012 at Inbound12, Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan, HubSpot Co-Founders, announced the launch of HubSpot3 and HubSpot3 for the iPhone.

HubSpot3, the biggest release in HubSpot history, promises to lead the next generation of inbound marketing.

Described as “1+1=3″, HubSpot3 makes the impossible possible by combining all the databases, systems, and applications that marketers use every day into one easy-to-use platform.

While HubSpot3 boasts over 100 applications, Dharmesh demonstrated what they feel to be their top 6.1. Contacts

With the ability to add up to 1000 custom fields, the Contacts app promises to be a game changer for marketers. The Contacts app allows marketers to store everything they know about their contacts in a timeline view. You will be able to see webpage views, email clicks, and social interactions all in one place.2. Social Media

HubSpot fixed their Social Media app by integrating a feature that allows you to share your content across as many social media sites as you want, and schedule your posts to go out at multiple times. No other social sharing platform currently does this. It’s a super time saver and game changer for marketers.3. Landing Pages

Create your own professional looking, optimized landing pages with no coding. The Landing Page app includes a simple drag and drop interface, live preview screen so you can see what your edits live as you make them, and the ability to put forms on the page without the help of a programmer.

The coolest part of the Landing Page app is that the forms are “smart” meaning that they remember the information your visitor has already completed so they don’t have to fill out the forms over and over again.4. Call-to-Action

HubSpot3 gives marketers the ability to create beautiful, professional CTA buttons in a flash, no designer needed. What’s even better is that the CTA app includes click and lead tracking, a/b testing capabilities, and the ability to personalize the CTA based on any of the information you have on that person in your database. If that visitor has previously visited a landing page and clicked on the CTA, the smart CTA feature allows the marketer to show them a different offer. How cool is that?5. Email

The Email app is the next generation email markeitng system. Similar to the Landing Page app, you can pick your email layout from a template, customize it, or upload your own design. The Email app boasts a new single page flow, floating live preview, and the ability to add social sharing. What’s even better is the ability to personalize the email subject, message, CTA and the reply to sender enter name.6. Workflows

The Workflows app makes easy what traditional marketing automation software makes hard. This app allows marketers to create automated emails from any feature within HubSpot3. Whether it be from form submissions, website analytics, email interactions or and social interactions, Workflows allows you to create smart lists and rules for automation. Send a lead to the CRM, update a lead score, set the lifecycle stage, change a CTA, or trigger a webhook based on any event that happens within HubSpot.HubSpot3 for iPhone

As announced today, a smaller version HubSpot3 will be available on the iPhone. The HubSpot apps on the iPhone will include Dashboard, Sources, and Contacts. When is HubSpot3 available?

HubSpot will roll out the upgrade to existing customers in phases. Log in to your HubSpot account for a message about the upgrade. New customers can go to http://www.hubspot.com/3.

Google tools to make blogging easier | Google, Google Tools | Internet Marketing Consulting – SEO – Social Media

by Caitlin on May 9, 2011

in Google, Google Tools

What would you do without Google? I recently tweeted this question and found out I am not the only hardcore Googler out there. One person said they’d cry, I said I’d melt, and someone else said they would do both, cry and melt.

Google offers more than just a great search engine; it also offers a ton of free tools that can help to make our work lives more efficient. In this series of posts written by myself and Patti Fousek, we will cover our favorite Google tools. From brainstorming and blogging, to SEO and social media, we’ll cover the top Google tools that assist us in our everyday tasks.

In the first post of the series, I’ll share my favorite Google tools for sparking blog topic ideas and improving blogging efficiency.

Coming up with new and creative ideas for your blog is not an easy task, even if you love blogging. Wouldn’t it be great to find other ways to spark creativity and keep track of your blog topic ideas over time? Absolutely. Especially if you’re swimming in Post-it to-do lists and daily email digests of industry news. Here are six fantastic Google tools that help me brainstorm ideas and keep organized through the blogging process.

Google Docs is at the top of this list for organization purposes. It’s simple to use and most importantly, accessible from anywhere. I like to use both Google Word Documents and Google Doc Spreadsheets to organize my blog ideas and posts.

If you don’t use an RSS reader, you probably suffer from a cluttered email inbox and receive several industry email newsletters a day. Google Reader is easy to use and will save you a ton of time. I subscribe to my favorite blogs and news sites via Google Reader, which I can organize into folders and read from one feed instead of many emails. When I’m in need of fresh blog ideas, I just browse through my Google Reader.

Google Trends is another great place get blog content ideas; it’s pretty simple. Enter topics into Google Trends and see how often these topics have been searched for on Google over time. We like to use this tool for keyword research too – we’ll cover that topic in a later post.

If you blog about current events or breaking news in your industry, you’ll want to use Google Alerts. Google Alerts monitor the web (news, blogs, websites, etc.) for keywords and topics you save as searches. When new content is posted online, Google Alerts sends you an email linking to the content. We find this tool especially helpful for the SEO and social media industry because hot topics literally pop up in a moment’s notice.

Coming up with a creative image for each blog post can sometimes be more difficult than creating the content itself. So when I’m in need of a little creative boost, I turn to Google Images and perform a little bit of research to help me get ideas for an image to create or purchase. When using an image you find anywhere on the web, always remember to give the originator credit.

Google Calendar is a great tool to use as a blogging editorial calendar. Google Calendar allows you to share your calendar with anyone. So, if your blog has many authors, this tool is a great, and free, way to keep everyone on task.

Give some of these tools a test run and let us know which you find helpful. We’d love to hear from you.

If you’re struggling with getting your corporate blog started, CreativeMind Search Marketing can create a blogging strategy that will boost you ahead of your competition.

How Long Should it Take to Write a Blog Post? | B2B Marketing, Blog Training, blogging

by Patti on March 28, 2011

in B2B Marketing, Blog Training, blogging

Earlier this week I read Mel Robbins‘ blog post “It’s All About the Gear,” which got me thinking about my own experience with blogging. Technically, I’ve been blogging for four years, but to me, I still feel like a novice. While I too struggle with many blogging challenges (ie. finding the time, organizing my thoughts, “having the right gear”, etc.), I always found that once I get started, finishing the blog post is relatively quick. Now remember, I don’t always go back and double check my grammar, or rewrite sentences that “bother” me. I just publish the post as is.

I did make the mistake once of editing a blog post after it was published to Twitter because I thought it was too harsh, but now I don’t really care who’s feelings get hurt, I just write what I want.

Why do I do this? Well, in the past I did find that it would take me forever to finish a post because I was treating the act of writing the post like writing a paper in college. I would struggle to find the right words, stress over grammar and paragraph length, and just basically get wound up in the details. Now, I just go with the flow. I may not ever be an award winning blogger because of this strategy, however, I feel that I get my point across and teach people a thing or two in the process.

So, back to the topic of this post: How long should it take to write a blog post? My answer to you is: Less than an hour.

Yes, that’s right…. less than an hour. In my opinion, if a blog post takes you longer than an hour to write… it’s not the topic you should be writing about. Now, I’m not talking about those posts where you’re reviewing a product or thought leadership posts, or a topic that requires research – obviously, those will take longer than an hour.

But for your everyday, run of the mill blog post…. like this one, less than an hour will suffice.

Now, if you follow Chris Brogan, you may have heard of his 20 minute plan (or the Pomodoro method – think tomato, not apple… LOL). He mentions that in 20 minutes you could complete a blog post, or get “half way there.” He is correct. OK, he’s Chris and he can spit out a blog post in his sleep, but his statement is correct.

I find that if I’m struggling to write a post, it’s either A. not a topic I know 100%, or B. I’m too concerned over the details.

The moral of post is…. stop endlessly trying to be perfect and just write a damn blog post! And remember, practice makes perfect. The next time you write a blog post, challenge yourself to write it in under one hour. I know you can do it!

Portable – In this case, the air conditioning unit is affordable and ideal for cooling a single room or small apartment

The next consideration in our scenario of summer is on the way, how to shop for the right one, has to do with the size of the unit. The following information will be helpful.
Split or Central Air Conditioning – For homes, you need this type of unit. However, the size you choose will depend on the size of the home so you would need to talk to a professional to make this determination. If the unit were too small, it would not work effectively. In fact, too small a unit would overwork, possibly overheating and burning out. However, if the unit is too large, it will go through on/off cycles too frequently, costing you excessive money.
Portable – This too would depend on the size of the room, your budget, and how cool you want the room. You can check with the salesperson, providing him or her specific information so you know which ones are best.
Efficiency

Today, more and more people and companies are concerned over high energy use. Because of this, many energy saving air conditioning units have been designed, saving energy and money. The best option is to look for units with an Energy Star label, meaning they are tested for the highest efficiency. To goal is to choose a SEER or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating as high as you can afford. The higher the number – the more efficient the system.
Reviews

Always listen to what other consumers say. Therefore, do some research online, finding reviews for the various types of air conditioners you might be interested in, learning the good, and the bad.
Additional Features

Many air conditioners on the market today offer both standard and additional features. Some of the things you should consider include.
The number of available fan settings. Remember, the more setting a unit has, means you will have the ability to choose what you deem comfortable while saving money on energy.
Check on whether the system has an air filter for allergy sufferers. In some cases, air conditioning units have built-in filtrations systems, which help by blocking out or catching airborne particles. As a result, people who suffer from allergies have a much easier time and individuals with respiratory illness such as asthma, find breathing easier.
Always ask about the warranty. Many air conditioning units are major investments so you want to make sure the unit has a great warranty. We recommend a minimum of one year for portable types of air conditioners and five to ten years for central air units.
Some even come with remote control. You will find several air conditioning systems that now provide remote control, can you imagine?
Installation

Finally, for our story on the summer is on the way, how to shop for the right one pertaining to air conditioning units, installation is another factor to consider. Typically, central has to be installed by a trained and licensed professional whereas a portable or window unit is something you could probably install. Therefore, remember that in some cases, extra expense for installation is a part of the buying process.

Never again to you have to spend a restless night sleeping in a hot house. With the right air conditioning unit, you can enjoy some of the most restful sleep possible. Additionally, running the air conditioning unit is also beneficial for people with allergies in that outside air is kept outside. Regardless, it all comes down to making sure you have the right unit for your home.

ImageTo understand air conditioning principles, you do not have to be an expert in the field. However, as a homeowner it is important to understand these principles, which could allow you to save money in repairs for some areas that you might be able to fix on your own. In this article, we have provided helpful information specific to what air conditioners are and the ways in which they work. Actually, air conditioner principles are basic, as you are about to discover.
Heat Transfer

This type of energy involves a cooling process to eliminate or reduce heat. For instance, if you were to place your hand in front of a car’s air conditioner, you would feel cold air but if you placed your hand behind the exhaust, you would feel warm air. With air conditioners, heat is transferred out or away so cool air keeps a home comfortable.
Sensible and Latent Heat

In relation to heat energy, you will find two options, one being sensible and the other latent. For instance, when your local meteorologist says the outside temperature will be 85, he or she is referring to sensible heat. On the other hand, latent heat is not something that can be measured or felt. Instead, this form of heat energy is what causes properties to change for a particular object. Therefore, if latent heat in the form of steam were removed, you would have water, which would eventually freeze.
Humidity

When there is moisture in the air, this is humidity. In some states, humidity levels are high, making outside temperature feel even hotter. Keep in mind, humidity has a direct impact on temperature so the warmer the air the more moisture it can hold. Then, you might have heard the term, relative humidity, which also has to do with conditioning principles in that this is the percentage of moisture in the air, not the amount of moisture. With air conditioning units, many work to keep air cool, but also control the level of humidity.
Refrigerant

For an air conditioner to transfer heat while cooling a home, they need some type of refrigerant. These refrigerants are specially formulated, depending on the type of unit you have, each designed to change the state at certain temperatures so you get the most cooling possible. Some of the more common types of refrigerants include R22 (Freon) and HCFC.
Refrigerant Cycle

The next of the air conditioning principles discussed is the refrigerant cycle. Comprised of four components, relative to every type of air conditioning system, these components work in basic functions to include:
Compressor – Refrigerant is taken from the evaporator, being pumped to the condenser with the help of the compressor. From there, the compressor creates pressure, which causes the refrigerant to vaporize, thus changing state.
Condenser – This type of high-pressure refrigerant is another of the air conditioning principles, which is a vapor that is capable of releasing heat using condenser coils. The process of the refrigerant condensing makes it much easier to vaporize.
Metering – With a metering device, flow of liquid refrigerant is restricted coming from the condenser to the evaporator. With this, the refrigerant will pass through this device, thus reducing pressure. From there, the lower pressure refrigerant is able to absorb heat while it vaporizes in the coils. This system is the specific type seen on all of the newer types of air conditioners, those using refrigeration.
When you begin shopping around for a new air conditioning unit, it is important to take time to learn about the various air conditioning principles. With this, you will have better insight into how each of the systems work. Obviously, this information could be used for making the final decision, allowing you to find and understand the unit that is going to work best for your needs. Remember that there will be professionals able to answer any questions you might have and you can always conduct further research online.

Most people never take the time to understand air conditioning principles and while they may not need all the information, it is certainly interesting reading. The bottom line is that all of these functions work together to ensure an air conditioning unit does its job in keeping the home’s interior cool. The ins and outs of each system would be slightly different depending on style, make, model, and other factors but they all work off the same concept of making warm air cool. Without doubt, air conditioning units are fascinating and without them, many people would be miserable in hot climates.

Want to get the most from your HVAC system and help in reducing your home’s electricity costs? We all do. No one wants to have to be shocked by an unannounced air conditioning Coosada AL unit replacement. Right now there are things that one may do to help increase the overall performance and life span of any current unit that are not time consuming or expensive either. Besides having the general knowing of if a replacement unit will be needed any time in the future, the amount of money one can save on their monthly power bills is definitely reason enough to perform these quick and easy maintenance tips. Heating and Air Coosada offers this recommendation for it is very important to us to share as much advice with our ongoing customers, in addition to the community of Coosada as possible. We are available to answer any questions you might have in regards to these. Here are several stategies to help with increasing the life of your present unit and things you can do to assist with keeping them working well as to decrease your monthly electricity bill.

Keeping airways clean and clear – Constant and adequate airlow either to a heating or cooling unit is important. One of the best ways to insure this happens is to regularly change and inspect the air filters of the unit. Every month is an efficient suggestion. This alone could save hundred of dollars each year in energy costs. Make sure that the filters are not excessively dirty and clogged.

Companies are even now making air filters which are cleanable up to three times before they would need changed.

Heating and Air Coosada – Evaporator and Condenser Coil Maintenance

Evaporator and condenser coils – This can be a little more involved than merely replacing the air filters, but very important as well. If you are having a new unit installed, or having a service technician out to inspect a unit (maybe particularly if you are having a dwelling inspected that you’re most likely going to be acquiring), ask the technician the best way to check out these parts while he or she is there. The evaporator can clog which leads to the unit working harder than it would need to. Eventually, this leads to the system to wear down and one isn’t going to get the total life out of the unit. A handy clean is to run water from a hose over them. Make sure to do so gently and do not use a powerful stream of water. As for the evaporator coil, warm water and dish soap ought to do the trick. A smooth brush, like a toothbrush may be used to clean the interior while being careful of not damaging the fins. Do not touch the coils with your fingers. These are very delicate and can bend very easily. If it appears that grease is developing on the coil, a degreaser is fine on this. Also ensure the fan blades are clean likewise. Look at the belt to insure it is not too tight or too loose and for an excessive amount of wear.

You could look at getting slime and sludge tablets to use in the air handler drip pan every few months. This will aid in cutting down on the amount of build-up. If you notice sludge developing, you can use a shop vac to clean it out. When cleaning the condensation tray beneath the evaporator unit, you may put a small amount of bleach into the weep hole to help make sure fungus does propagate. A piece of wire can clear away the weep hole well if it seems to be clogged. Especially during extremely humid times of the year, this ought to be inspected weekly especially to be sure the tray isn’t collecting too much water. A super easy check is while the air conditioning is running, find out if water is flowing from the drain lines. If no water is present, there’s a decent possibility there’s a clog.

Keeping outside the house coils clean and free of debris is critical as well. Ensure that plants, grass, weeds, multch are away from the unit. Also trim any bushes or shrubs that begin to grow too close to the unit. A few feet of space all around the unit is advisable to guarantee a lot of air flow is entering the unit.

Heating and Air Coosada – Duck Work Maintenance

Insulation and duck work – Check the insulation to make sure it is still wrapped well around the duckwork. Foil tape may be used to secure any gaps or breaks in the insulation. Duct tape isn’t going to last as long as foil tape. Any duck tape on the ductwork itself should really be taken off and the surface cleaned. The application of duct mastic should then be used, which will create a quality seal that will not crack in time. Be sure that duckwork is not crushed or visibly damaged. This isn’t always the most exciting task to do within an attic. You should definitely use gloves and a mask to minimize the effects of working with insulation. Fexible ductwork ought to be inspected to be certain it’s not sagging. In that case, secure it and look for any kinks in the lines. Dirt stains surrounding the supply registers are a sure sign that there exists duct leaks. Unless, of course, you are not replacing your air filters regularly.

Service contracts – Consider purchasing a service contract at a local Heating and Air Coosada company to routinely check out and perform servicing on your system. They are normally cost effective and will give one the comfort that everything is working properly and to its full potential, increasing the life span of your system. Very often, the price of this is readily offset by the power expense one will save during the period of a year with a sufficiently running system.

When going out of town – If you are not at home for an prolonged time period, you’ll want to give your sytem a break. For those who have a changeable thermostat, certainly us it to take into account the time of day to help save electric power costs. Even if you’re not on vacation, or gone for a few days, using a variable themostat is a good option to use to alter the temperature of the home when you are not present.

Today, high-tech and sophisticated chillers are available for cooling ozone generators, laser equipment, plastic vacuum pumps, welding machines, cutting equipment, x-ray machines, packing machines, printing equipment, and much more. These chillers work by controlling water flow temperatures. For instance, if a type of refrigerant is used, the water can be chilled to a temperature that can actually be adjusted within a heat exchanger.
While there are many refrigerant options, many people concerned with the environment are turning to solutions such as R-407c and R-134a gas, which is not only highly efficient but also environmentally friendly. Developers of chillers who are making the equipment to help the environment include Doulton, Ultracool, Zarsky, and TrueTon, although there are many other developers of chillers that use refrigerants considered harmful.

When it comes to advantages of using a chiller, there are numerous things to consider such as:

Low noise
Low power consumption
Motor protection for circuit breakers
Antifreeze thermostat
Level and flow switches
A chiller also comes in a variety of cooling capacities depending on the model. For instance, some will actually provide a cooling range of 0.7 to 470 kw. As mentioned, there are many uses for chillers. For instance, many are used to cool air. Depending on the use, the design of the chiller would also vary. In this case, the outside construction would likely be made from stainless steel. These chillers also come in a huge selection of sizes with some so small they can fit nicely underneath a kitchen sink while others are quite large, being used for commercial reasons.
The price of a chiller has a wide range, which depends on the capacity, purpose, and model chosen. A high efficiency unit that would be used for home purposes might cost only $500 to $1,000 whereas commercial chillers would cost into the thousands. Regardless, chillers serve one purpose, which is to eliminate heat from liquid by using a type of vapor compression or absorption cycle.

For industrial or commercial uses, the chiller cools water and dehumidifies air for large industrial or institutional facilities. These machines are highly precise in their function and again, for commercial use, they are expensive and cost a lot to operate. Even so, they are a much needed piece of equipment and as long as they are maintained and cared for properly, they will last a long time.

When it comes to air conditioning, a chiller will use the chilled water to distribute out to coils, also known as heat exchangers. Within the air handing unit, the used water is then returned to the chiller. The coils take heat, both latent and sensible from the air within the chilled water, which is what creates the cooling capacity of the air conditioning unit.

Then for commercial uses, the cooled water is pumped through a type of laboratory equipment, which helps to keep machines, equipment, and even products at the necessary temperature. As with molding and plastics, once melted, these materials have to be cooled at just the right temperature, which is what the chiller does. The same would be true for any type of welding, metal working, die casting, formulation of pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, power supplies, and so on.

Without chillers, it would be impossible to process many of the things that people use on an everyday basis. Within a commercial situation, chillers have multiple purposes, each with a set of advantages. When looking at chillers, there are many types but five considered the most used. These include:

Scroll Compression
Reciprocating Compression
Screw-Driven Compression
Centrifugal Compression
Absorption
The first four types of chillers are types of mechanical machines, which means they are powered with gas turbines, electric motors, or steam. The last type of chiller is run by a heat source, usually by combustion, hot water, or steam. Regardless, chillers of all types and sizes are a huge part of the world in creating and maintaining important things we use.

Typically, issues that arise pertaining to health implications and air conditioning develop from using a system too much rather than too little. Most people think that keeping the unit running is the best option for comfort, as well as air quality. However, the truth is that in some instances, using air conditioning too much can actually cause problems and for some people, serious problems.
For example, the health implications of air conditioning overuse can be difficult for anyone living with certain physical challenges. Individuals who have neuritis or arthritis, as well as those with sinuses often experience more difficulty when the air conditioning unit is used all the time. In fact, there have been numerous studies done that actually show people who work indoors opposed to outdoors. These studies have shown that a person’s environment has a significant impact on a person’s health. However, if an air conditioned environment is maintained properly then the indoors can also be beneficial.

Interestingly, health implications of air conditioning are fact, showing that people who spend a lot of time in an environment cooled do not cope as well with hot temperatures of the outdoors. For instance, if someone works all day in an office that is air conditioned, then gets into an air conditioned car only to step inside an air conditioned home, the potential for sickness is much greater. The constant moving from a cool 78 degree environment to a 90 to 100 degree outside temperature is actually hard on the body and for some people with certain health conditions, very serious.

Take health implications of health and air conditioning specific to cool air within the car. Most people will get into an air conditioned car, not realizing that there are microorganisms being sent into the air breathed. In fact, one top medical center conducted a fascinating study that showed 22 of the 25 cars tested had eight unique microorganisms that could cause problems with air quality and therefore, breathing problems. The good news is that if a person maintains the air conditioning unit in a car, making sure quality filters is used and that the system itself is in optimal operating condition, the air pollutants are greatly reduced, if not eliminated.

The interesting thing is that if a person were to run their air conditioning unit at home and in the car less often, not only could they save as much as 50% off the energy needed to cool the air but they would also find they are healthier. Of course, that does not mean on the hottest of days the air cannot be used but instead, using an attic fan or opening the windows in a home and using fresh air in the car will certainly benefit.

While there are some negative health implications of air conditioning, there are also positive aspects to consider. For instance, a person who has seasonal allergies will find they breathe easier in an air conditioned environment. This means at home sleeping better, avoiding painful headaches and overall feeling more refreshed. Then, individuals who live with certain breathing problems to include asthma also benefit from cool air, which eliminates airborne pollutants.

For cool air and a healthy environment, experts suggest a person’s home, car, and office never go below 78 degrees. To some, that might seem hot but in truth, you would become accustomed to this level of coolness quickly and without having to experience any or many of the negative health implications of air conditioning found when the temperature is much cooler.

One way to control any bad health implications of air conditioning simply starts by using a quality filter or purification system. First, this will keep air pollutants to a minimum but this will also allow the unit to run more efficiently. When air purification systems are used, they help to capture unwanted pollutants, those small particles floating in the air that should not be inhaled. The result is a comfortable environment but a clean and healthy environment too.

Typically, the best way to control bad health implications in air conditioning is to have a good HEPA filter installed. Many of these filters are very affordable and they work amazingly well. The key here is to find a high efficiency filter, which is specially made to capture not only the small airborne particles but also the larger ones. As a result, the air quality could easily be improved by as much as 99.95% or more.

=======================================

While cooling a home is typically done by a central air conditioning unit, individual rooms, apartments, dorm rooms, or smaller spaces the better choice is with a room air conditioner. Years ago, these units were not well made and therefore, the results were poor. However, today room air conditioners are highly efficient, designed with better technology and features. The most important thing is to choose an air conditioner that has the proper BTU needed. Air conditioner BTU, which stands for “British Thermal Unit” is an international measurement used for energy. When looking at a standard refrigerator, on the inside there is a type of evaporator coil that works by keeping the inside of the unit cold while the condenser coil is designed to push hot air outdoors. Using a pump designed with tubes that run through the two coils along with a fan is what makes the unit work. Air conditioner BTU works in much the same way.
Before going out to buy a new unit, it is most important to learn everything possible about air conditioner BTU. Heat needed to raise a single pound of water by just one degree is the description for BTU. Therefore, when referring to air conditioner BTU, the amount of heat the unit removes from the room or space is measured. Now, there are many different sizes, weights, and prices for a room air conditioner with the units with the higher BTU being the largest and most expensive.

An air conditioner BTU starts at 5,000 and works its way up to 24,000. One of the keys to choosing air conditioner BTU is going with one specific to the room size. If the unit is too large, the room would be way to cold and uncomfortable. However, if the air conditioner is too small, not only would it be hard to keep the room cool but the unit itself is running much harder than it should, meaning a lot of pressure is being placed on it. Specific factors associated with air conditioner BTU include:

EER – This is the acronym for “Energy Efficiency Ratio”, which is determined by taking the unit’s BTU by the number of watts. In this case, a higher EER is most efficient. As mentioned, just as a unit with higher BTUs, one with a higher EER is going to be the most expensive. For this reason, it is important to understand the exact size needed so people are not paying for something they simply do not use.
Thermostat – To adjust air temperature coming from the air conditioning unit, the thermostat senses heat. With the air conditioner BTU unit, a person can adjust the temperature using the thermostat manually or simply place it on the temperature they prefer to maintain for the room. Many units come with an adjustable thermostat, which works along with a variable speed fan, making the air conditioner highly efficient and effective.
Fan – The air conditioner BTU unit will also have a fan that works to move the air so the room or space is cooled evenly. While there are many different model options on the market, we strongly recommend one with up and down or right and left louvers that can be adjusted.
Filter – While some air conditioner BTU units have filters that can be cleared or replaced with little effort, not all do. Therefore, to make sure the room or space is cool and the unit lasts for a long time, going with an air conditioner that has easy to work with filters is the best option.
Packaged Terminal Heat/Air Pump Conditioner – If the air conditioner BTU is large, one that is actually installed in the wall rather than being placed in the window, then the unit is known as a packaged terminal heat and air pump conditioner. For people who travel for business or go on vacation have seen this type of room air conditioner in the hotel room where they stayed.
Chassis – The smaller air conditioner BTU units have what is known as a fixed chassis, which is what make the unit easy to take in and out of the window. However, for the larger units such as those used in hotel rooms, a slide-out chassis is used since these units are installed in the wall.
When shopping around for the right air conditioner BTU, it is important to start by knowing the room or space’s square footage. However, along with this, other factors come into play to include the number of people who are commonly in the room (since body heat will make the room warmer with more people), the number of windows, the height of the ceiling, and even the direction in which the room faces. To make the air conditioner BTU planning easier, the following can be used as a good reference:

100 to 150 square foot – 5,000 BTUs
151 to 250 square foot – 6,000 BTUs
251 to 300 square foot – 7,000 BTUs
301 to 350 square foot – 8,000 BTUs
351 to 400 square foot – 8,000 BTUs
401 to 450 square foot – 10,000 BTUs
451 to 550 square foot – 12,000 BTUs
551 to 700 square foot – 14,000 BTUs
701 to 1,000 square foot – 18,000 BTUs

A very important note when shopping for air conditioner BTU – the larger more expensive unit is not necessarily the better choice. Again, one that s too big is overkill, cycling on and off too many times, which is hard on the unit. Therefore, the key is to stick with the BTUs according to square footage primarily, resulting in a comfortable cool room and a unit designed to last for years to come.

=================
Today, people see a rising cost associated with air conditioning. With people trying to find ways to save money in our current economy, while cool air is needed, there are also ways of saving energy. One option to cut back on money is finding acceptable ways to reduce the demand of energy. Typically, people do not give much thought to the amount of energy consumed by air conditioning in the home but in truth, it is more than most realize.

If you were to look at new home and commercial building, you would see that the importance of energy use, as well as humidity in air conditioning is one of the primary areas buyers want improved. The good news is that there are a number of new energy-efficient systems available that still meet the needs of people in keeping the indoor climate cool and comfortable while also reducing the amount of energy being consumed.

One thing that builders look at is not only the air conditioning system itself, but also the materials used, the overall construction, the orientation, and even location of the building. Each of these actually has some impact on the amount of energy being consumed by an air conditioning system. Therefore, builders look for materials that are capable of absorbing heat, which actually delays, reduces, or eliminates the transfer of heat from the outside to the inside environment.

Take the orientation of a new home or office as a prime example of saving on energy use and air conditioning. By placing the windows in the right places and then using appropriate window coverings, a tremendous amount of solar radiation can be blocked. In addition, using a high quality thermal insulation also adds to the reduction of energy used specific to air conditioning. Using a variety of cost-effective changes can certainly make a significant difference in the overall cost of keeping a home or office cool during the hot summer months.

The importance of energy use and humidity in air conditioning also relates to saving in existing homes and businesses. Most often, it is more affordable to make updates and changes to the air conditioning system used in an existing structure than to completely tear the building down and start over. The most important thing in this case is to first identify where the majority of energy is being used but also points of escape where cold air is leaking to the outside instead of staying in to cool the internal environment.

Experts have conducted numerous studies, showing that by implementing changes specific to improving functionality, effectiveness, and cost associated with air conditioning, as much as 15% could be saved every month on energy bills. In addition to creating an inside environment that is much more comfortable, there is of course the long-term rewards enjoyed from a financial perspective.

Even the air conditioning unit itself could have a huge impact on saving and efficiency. The key here is to make sure the placement of a new unit in shaded as much as possible, preferably on the structure’s north side. Changing the location of the air conditioning unit alone is enough to save anywhere from 8% to 10% off the monthly bill. Therefore, the importance of energy use and humidity of air conditioning should always start with the location.

Then, it is just as important to choose a unit specific to the need of the home, specifically to square footage. A common mistake made is that people think if they purchase a large unit, they will have a cooler home but in truth, if the unit is too large for the space needing to be cooled, you could actually lose some of the efficiency and effectiveness. For this reason, if you need to purchase a new air conditioning use, you want to talk to a professional so the right unit can be chosen and then placed in the most beneficial location.

As far as the importance of humidity, this is also a very key element to air quality. If you can maintain humidity at the best level, you will be able to eliminate problems with dust mites, fungi, mold, mildew, bacteria, carpet ants, termites, viruses, etc. In addition, you also improve the overall quality of indoor air, making it a more comfortable and healthy environment. For instance, people with respiratory problems such as asthma or hay fever would benefit tremendously by keeping the home or office humidity level at the optimal level.

Another benefit associated with appropriate humidity and air conditioning in the home has to do with wood furniture. For instance, when humidity is too high or too low, expensive pieces of wood furniture could be damaged from contractions or expansions. However, when the humidity level is exact, furniture is actually protected, lasting a long time while looking beautiful. The bottom line is that the importance of energy use and humidity in air conditioning makes a huge difference in the overall environment.

Tips for Buying and Using Window Air Conditioning

ImageOne of the best ways to cool a smaller space or room is with window air conditioning. Today, there are a number of great choices for energy efficiency but also conditioners that are designed to cool even larger spaces than ever before. Of course, with any window air conditioning unit, the most important decision is choosing the right size for the indoor space needing to be cooled.

With window air conditioning, there is an evaporator coil that coil that cools the room while the condenser coil works by eliminating hot air. Then, some type of refrigerant is used, which pushes through a pump that goes from one coil to the other. The cool air produced is then moved out into the room with the use of a fan. With a little education, choosing window air conditioning does not have to be a painful process.
BTU

First, it is important to understand British Thermal Unit or BTU, which is a type of energy measurement used around the world. In simple terms, BTU is a measurement of heat needed to raise a single pound of water by just one degree. The BTU works by measuring heat that the unit is capable of removing from the room. The higher the BTU the more expensive the unit but also the higher level of performance. Typically, window air conditioning units with high BTU ratings are heavier and larger in size as well.

Typically, window air conditioning units will provide between 5,000 and 24,000 BTU. With this, it is vital to coordinate the requirements for BTU with the size of the room. If this is not done, then the room will not cool off efficiently and the air conditioning unit has to work too hard, which can cause wear and tear, as well as a higher monthly energy bill.
EER

This acronym stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio, which for window air conditioning is a number calculated by dividing BTUs by the number of watts. In this case, if the EER is high, the unit is very efficient. Again, a window air conditioning unit with a higher EER will cost more but it will save a tremendous amount of money month, which allows the owner to recoup the investment over time. The goal here is to choose a rating of 8.0 to 10.0 with the higher number better for hot regions.
Thermostat

A window air conditioning unit will have a thermostat, which is what adjusts the air temperature. Depending on the model of air conditioner, some thermostats are manual and others automatic. With this, there is also a fan that has variable speeds. The result is much more effective and efficient cooling.
Filter

Obviously, having a window air conditioning unit also needs to produce clean air. The last thing anyone wants is to have polluted air from the outside being pushed indoors. Therefore, the filter is very important. We strongly recommend that people look at air conditioning units that have a filter that can be replaced or at least cleaned quickly and easily.
Fan

To move air out into the room, keeping it clean, the window air conditioning unit has a fan. As mentioned, some are variable speed, which means there is a low, medium, and high setting depending on how hot the room is on a particular day. The best type of air conditioning unit is one designed with adjustable louvers, those that can be moved left or right, as well as up or down.
Chassis

With a window air conditioning unit, there are different options for chassis. For instance, a lightweight, small unit would have a fixed chassis. The benefit here is that during the winter months, the window air conditioning unit could be removed from the window with little effort. Another option, which is used for wall units, is the slide-out chassis. The purpose with this design is making it easier to replace parts or provide scheduled maintenance.
Terminal Heat Pump

In some cases, a window air conditioning unit will also have a heat pump. With this, cool air is produced during the hot summer months and then during the cold winter, the same unit can produce heat. Typically, these units are a little more expensive but they definitely have a market.

Most importantly before heading out to buy a window air conditioning unit is to take accurate room measurements and consider budget. Knowing the room’s square footage will ensure the right unit with the proper BTUs is purchased. Of course, some of the other factors that would come into play when choosing a window air conditioning unit include the number of windows, the direction in which the room faces, the number of people who commonly use the space, ceiling height, and so on.

Tips for HVAC Installation

ImageHVAC, which stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, is a system that keeps an indoor environment comfortable by regulating both airflow and ventilation. In addition, an HVAC system keep mold away, along with other types of harmful organisms by controlling air. After the right size and type of system has been chosen, the next step involves HVAC installation, which is something that should be done by a professional. The following are specific steps that would need to be followed for proper HVAC installation.
Load Calculation

The first step for HVAC installation has to do with the load calculation. With this, the design would be determined to ensure the right system is being chosen for a particular room. After all, the size of the HVAC system should be efficient, not under or over working. There are a number of online resources where the load calculation can be completed.
Fan Coil Unit Location

From there, it is important to find the right location for the fan coil unit. People need to remember that this can be in an unconditioned space, which might include a garage or attic. As long as the space for the coil unit is protected from the elements of weather and any city or building codes are met, there should be no problem.

However, many people will place the fan coil unit in a space where there is air conditioning. Typically, the best options would include a laundry room, utility room, closet, or perhaps somewhere in the basement. Then, the type of cabinet would be decided on, which includes vertical and horizontal choices.

In addition to the fan coil unit, the placement of the return air filter box and the duct also has to be determined. Then, there will be a nine-inch plenum, refrigerant lines, condensate drain line, and air supply tubing, which also need to be considered when the overall location for HVAC installation is discussed.
Return Air Opening

The next step of the HVAC installation process is to cut the return air opening and find the right location for the air duct. The key here is to make sure the return air box is not in a room where there is no duct with a 180-degree bend. The opening cut would then be determined based on the dimension and size of the box.
Platform

There has to be a platform for the fan coil unit and while there are different options depending on the type involved, most would need 2×8-inch stud lumber along with .5-inch plywood for the overall construction. The key here is to make sure the coil is suspended, which can be done by using .25-inch rods that are threaded.
Plenum Ring

For HVAC installation, this ring needs to be placed a couple of inches below the bottom level of the fan coil unit, which is attached to a square opening and secured with four screws.
Condensate Drain

The next step of the HVAC installation process is to make sure the condensate drain trap is properly connected to the fan coil unit.
Refrigerant Lines

Then, the HVAC installation involves the refrigerant lines going from the outside condensing unit to the fan coil unit on the inside.
Supply Tubing/Plenum Duct

When reaching the point of the HVAC installation where the distribution components are installed, a system layout with sizing parameters should be considered. Additionally, for the installation of the plenum duct, people need to ensure that the branch, tees, and elbows all run no less than 18 inches from the fan coil unit to keep pressure from dropping. The plenum duct also needs to be cut to the needed length.
Terminator Outlets/Sound Tubing

Next on the list for HVAC installation is that these needs to be installed. The location for the terminator outlet needs to be so it is about five inches out from the edge of the wall. However, it the HVAC installation will be in the corner of the ceiling, and then it needs to be three inches away. Then, the outlet and sound attenuating tubing would be assembled, which is accomplished by taking the connectors and fitting them and turning until secure and tight.
Supply Tubing

The final step of HVAC installation is that the supply tubing has to be installed. It is important that there be no dramatic bends in the tubing for both supply and attenuator. In most cases, this type of tubing is sold in 100-foot lengths so it would need to be shortened specific to need. However, once cut, the connector for the tubing is slipped over the cut end, insulation and the Mylar scrim are tucked so they go under the connector on the collar, and then tape goes around the connector, which secures it.

After Bankruptcy Mortgage Lenders.

chapter 11 bankruptcy

Thanks to the new bankruptcy reform laws, many Americans who are overburdened by their credit card debt will no longer qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection. However, consumers need to know that an alternative exists for people to walk away from 100% of that debt, without bankruptcy, consolidation, or refinancing. The program is applicable to all major credit cards, unsecured lines-of-credit, and signature loans. The process that is used to discharge debt is based off of U.S. Supreme Courts decisions, Title 15 United State Code (USC) section 1692, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, section 1601, the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), section 203, and numerous Banking

Are You Thinking About Filing For Bankruptcy Protection?

Bankruptcy Overview

Bankruptcy, when you come right down to it, is the process that enables those who are unable to pay their debts get a fresh start. It allows for some or all of these debts to be discharged or reorganized. Individuals or businesses may file bankruptcy.

This enables you to clean the slate and get a 2nd chance with your finances. In most instances, bankruptcy provides a fair method for compensating your creditors as well.

The bankruptcy process need not be your worst nightmare. However, there are certain requirements that must be met. You will be required to file a list of all of your outstanding debts and a complete list of your assets. This is done with the help of your lawyer thru the Federal Courts.

To make this process easier to understand, your “Assets” fall into two categories.

They are: Exempt and Non-Exempt

Exempt assets are the property or belongings that you do NOT have to use to pay off the debts you have incurred.

In other words, exempt assets are off the table, (not in play) and may not be touched by your creditors. In most instances this includes a certain amount of equity in your home, and some of the equity in a vehicle. For the most part, your clothing, and other personal items are deemed exempt. This does not include the expensive jewelry, furs and the big boys toys.

Next, you will be assigned a “trustee” by the Federal Bankruptcy Court to administer the payment of your debts. Your debts also fall into two categories. They are: Secured debts and Unsecured debts.

A Secured debt is one in which the creditor retains a “security interest.” Most often it is the same property that was purchased with the credit that creditor extended. Secured debts occupy the first position. This means they enjoy priority over non-secured debts, and must be satisfied first.

If you are unable to pay off secured debts, the creditor has the option to repossess that property and sell it. If there is any “short fall”, that remaining debt is now considered unsecured. It doesn’t go away, it has only changed from secured to unsecured.

Once you have filed for protection, the court will issue an “automatic stay”. This stops your creditors in their tracks. They may not take additional action against you beyond the bankruptcy.

This allows you to avert impending repossessions and foreclosures.

Chapter 7

In Chapter 7 Bankruptcy you are in fact liquidating your assets. This means that you are only permitted to keep “exempt” property. The remaining non-exempt property will be sold to the highest bidder. The proceeds of the sale are applied to the outstanding debt. The shortfall or amount left unpaid by the sale is then discharged.

In Chapter 7 Bankruptcy there are a few debts that are not dischargeable. They include taxes, back child support, DWI fines and student loans.

Chapter 13

In Chapter 13 Bankruptcy you are trying to regroup, recoup and get back on track. It is commonly known as the “reorganization bankruptcy for individuals.”

Individuals who want to pay off their debt over a period of three to five years file Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Chapter 11

Chapter 11 Bankruptcy is commonly used as the reorganization tool for businesses. This kind of bankruptcy is attractive if you own “non-exempt” property that you want to protect. Chapter 11 will also help you to catch up on bills that have fallen into arrears. It effectively blocks an impending repossession or foreclosure.

Not everyone is eligible for a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. You must have a reliable source of income that is sufficient to pay your reasonable everyday expenses and still have an amount of positive cash flow with which you begin paying off past due bills.

If you file a Chapter 13 you are required to submit a plan to repay your debts that includes a set timeframe and set amounts to be repaid. Upon approval of the bankruptcy court, both parties (debtors & creditors) are obliged to accept the terms of the order

What To Do Now

Choosing your bankruptcy lawyer is an important decision.

This beginning process allows you to evaluate and determine your best course of action. This discussion is also your opportunity to satisfy yourself that the Jersey Justice sponsoring attorney’s fees are reasonable for your type of case.

Am I Making The Right Decision?

In all likelihood you are stressed and feeling the pressure to seek professional help with your finances. Your decision to look for an experienced bankruptcy attorney may be the best financial decision you have made in a long time.

Even taking the beginning steps to consult with an attorney takes enormous courage. You may even be thinking about struggling through all the mess on your own. That could be a very lonely path.

Before you make the decision to go it alone, ask yourself a few questions. If two or more of these are you, then it could be the perfect time to seek the services of a bankruptcy professional.

Are You:

receiving harassing or threatening phone calls from people you owe?

paying the minimum payment possible on your credit cards?

taking out Payday Loans? (which by the way are illegal in NJ)

begging for loans from friends and family?

about to lose your job?

behind in your taxes?

receiving foreclosure notices?

behind in child support or alimony?

gambling to try and make ends meet?

sick and unable to even go to work?

If your answers indicate that you are in financial deep water, bankruptcy may be your best solution, but you will never know for sure until you get the advice of an attorney.

How Will Bankruptcy Effect My Life? Your Bankruptcy Attorney will be able to explain some other very important considerations.

What happens after bankruptcy?

What will my life be like?

Will I ever be able to get credit again?

How do I live within a budget?

How do I start all over?

How do I rebuild my credit?

If these nagging questions are on your mind, then a bankruptcy attorney is right for you.

It is true. A bankruptcy can be a persistent source of blemishes on your credit report for up to 10 years. The good news is you are able to start re-establishing your credit the moment your case is closed.

How good is your present report? It is probably already suffering the consequences of late payments, delinquencies and every other known credit report disorder.

Think about this. Your credit score could actually improve due to the elimination of most of your debt. Lenders actually believe that you are a better credit risk now since they know that you may not file bankruptcy again for another six years.

At about 18 months to 24 months into your bankruptcy you will even be able to qualify for a new home loan if you are able to come up with a minimum down payment backed up with proof of income that supports the debt service.

Auto loans are available to individuals upon discharge of your existing debt. And believe it or not you will start receiving offers for credit almost immediately. But “caution” is the watchword at this critical point in time.

The offers of credit could have been what got you into trouble in the first place.

Many people who have filed bankruptcy in the past apply for credit the wrong way.

They fill out a credit application and hope for the best. Best case, they probably end up paying a lot more in interest and finance charges – hundreds or even thousands of dollars more, depending on what they’re buying.

That said, in this article we are going to talk about the RIGHT way to apply for credit and loans. So what is it? Well there are three steps:

1) Learn how to increase your credit score

2) Know the credit approval process

3) Know how to apply for credit and loans

Now, you want to get all three of these steps right. Not just one or two, but all THREE! See if you miss one, or don’t do it just right, you can end up paying $100s, $1,000s or $10,000s in additional interest and finance charges, depending on what you’re financing.

Here are the three steps in more detail…

Step One: Learn how to increase your credit score.

Increasing your credit score is a key factor in lowering the interest rate you pay on loans and getting approved for them as well. Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths out there that can actually hurt your credit score.

There a number of ways to increase your credit score. One way is to watch your credit card balances. Lenders don’t like to see them go above 50% of the available credit limit.

For example, if you have a credit limit of $3,000 and you’re current balancing owing is $1,800 (60%) that can hurt your credit score. In this situation, there are two ways you can fix the problem.

First, of course, is to pay the balance down so that it’s less than 50% of the credit limit. The other way is to get a credit limit increase:

If you can get a credit limit increase to $5,000 that will means you will be at less than 50% of your credit limit ($1,800 balance versus $5,000 credit limit). And you didn’t have to pay down the balance by a penny!

Another way to increase your credit score is to add years of positive credit history to your account. Most people don’t know about this and it’s 100% legal. But that’s another article in itself.

The point I am trying to make is that there are a number of strategies you can use to increase your credit score. Best of all, many of them can be implemented quickly and easily.

Step Two: Know the credit approval process

What do potential lenders look for? Here you need to know the questions to ask. For example, do they work with people who have had a bankruptcy in the past? What is the minimum credit score they want to see? These are just the initial questions.

There are a number of other questions. There are also a number of items that send up red flags if a lender sees them on your credit application – ones that could jeopardize your chances of qualifying for the loan or cost you more money in interest.

Another factor when applying for credit and loans is timing. You don’t want to apply for credit and loans until you’ve increased your credit score (most people make this mistake).

That brings us to step three…

Step 3: Know how to apply for credit and loans.

Knowing which lenders to approach and how to negotiate with them is also really important.

Apply for a loan or credit with the WRONG lender and you’re practically guaranteed to be turned down; or, you end up paying a pile of interest.

Then there’s there is the negotiation process. This especially important when you’re buying a car – for example, people will spend a lot of time negotiating the price of the car they’re buying and the value of their trade in (if they have one) – and STILL be taken advantage of. They don’t know how to REALLY negotiate for a car.

Think about it. How often do you buy a car? If you are like most of people it’s probably once every so many years. Now, how many times a day do you think a busy car dealership negotiates with buyers? Multiply that by weeks, months and years and you can see that they have slightly more experience.

You should now have an idea of the RIGHT way to apply for credit after bankruptcy. Though I wasn’t able to go into detail on ALL of the strategies you can use to increase your credit score and qualify for credit and loans at more reasonable rates this should at least give you a starting point.
